Adobe Postscript Printer driver with expresscopy.com PPD
How to download and install the Adobe Postscript Driver with custom expresscopy.com Postscript Printer Definition (PPD) file:
- After clicking to download the file 'Ecppd.exe' from expresscopy.com, save it in an easy-to-remember, temporary location on your hard drive like 'My Documents' or the Desktop.
- Double-click the Ecppd.exe file. You will be prompted to extract the files. Click 'OK'.
- Click 'Browse' and choose where to save the files. ('My Documents', the desktop or another suitable location). Click 'Ok'. The files will then be extracted to a folder called 'Ecppd' in the destination that you selected.
- Double-click the 'Ecppd' folder. You will see 3 files: winsteng.exe, readme.txt and expresscopy.PPD.
- Double-click the file 'winsteng.exe'.
- At the "Welcome" screen of the Adobe PostScript Driver Setup screen, click 'Next'.
- Click 'Accept' after reading the end user license agreement.
- For Connection Type, choose 'It is directly connected to your computer (Local Printer).'
- From the list of available ports, choose 'File: Local Port' and then click 'Next'.
- When instructed to select the model of your printer, click 'Browse' and browse to the new 'Ecppd' folder that was created in step 3. 'expresscopy' should automatically show up in the window on the left under 'Printers'. Highlight it and click 'OK'.
- Now, in the 'Select Printer Model' window, 'expresscopy' should be highlighted. Click 'Next'.
- Choose 'Not shared' in the 'Sharing' window.
- In the 'Printer Information' window, leave the printer name as it is by default but select 'No' for the remaining 2 questions. Then click 'Next'.
- Click 'Install'.
- When asked if you would like to configure your printer now, select 'No' and click 'Next'.
- In the 'Setup Complete' window, uncheck the box if you don't want to view the readme file and click 'Finish'. The installation will be finished and you will be instructed to restart your computer.
