My file has been transmitting for over an hour!

It takes a 28.8 kbps modem no less than 5 minutes to send a megabyte of information over the Internet. If your file is 12MB in size, you will need at least 60 minutes to transmit the file. Checking your file size prior to transmission will give you a basic idea of how long it will take to transmit your file.
