Sending Files Using Quiklinx Software
- If you're not connected to the internet, you'll need to activate your connection before sending your order.
- After installing Quiklinx, double click the icon on your desktop to start the program.
- At the introduction screen, click "next".
- Fill in all the fields in Step 1: the "Customer Information" screen.
Street Address: If this is the address you plan to ship to, it must be an actual street address and not a P.O. Box. If necessary, you'll have the option of listing a separate shipping address on the last page of the order form.
E-mail: Double check and make sure that your email address is typed correctly. If it is wrong, you will not receive the automatic confirmation email to verify your order.
Specify a different contact: Check this box if you would like to specify a contact other than the one already entered above. This is the person we will contact if there is a problem with the order. If someone other than the person mentioned above created the file you're sending to us, you may want to enter his or her information here so that we can reach him or her directly if there's a problem.
- When all of the customer information is correct, click "Next".
- Fill in all fields in Step 2: the "Order Information" screen.
Job Type: Choose "Postcard" only if you're sending a 4.25" by 5.5" or 5.5" by 8.5" postcard. Choose "Business card" only if you're sending a file with either 8 [bleed] or 10 [non-bleed] business cards on the page. For flyers and all other jobs that don't fit the above criteria, choose "Flyer".
Paper Type: We currently carry only one text stock (28#) and three cover stocks (90# Cover, 10 pt. Gloss Cover and 10 pt. Uncoated Cover).
Finished Size: You have the option of printing documents sized 8.5" x 11" (letter), 8.5" x 14" (legal) or 11" x 17" (tabloid). Note: Card stocks are not available for printing of documents over 8.5" x 11".
Cut to finished size: By default, this is set to "Yes". If you do not want your postcards, business cards, etc. cut apart, switch this to "No" and we will leave your copies in the original sheet size.
Quantity: Regardless of what type and size job you're ordering, this is the total number of finished pieces. If you're ordering postcards, but do not want them cut, this is still the actual number of total cards, not sheets.
Sides: If you're sending a two-sided document, be sure to change this to match your setup. If you want the second page to be black and white, you will need to set it up that way. We cannot force a color page to print black and white.
I am sending: If you've created separate files for the front and back of your two-sided print job, switch this to "two files". Otherwise, leave it on the default of "one file".
File name: Quiklinx does not allow you to type in this field. You need to click the "browse" button on the right to browse for your file within your system. Once you find the correct file name, double-click it and it should appear in the file name field.
Side two file name: This will only be available if you've selected "two files" in the "I am sending:" field. If you're sending a second file, click the "browse" button to browse for the file for side two. Double click the name of the intended file and it should appear in the file name field.
Notes: Any special instructions or questions that were not addressed in the standard order information can be typed here.
Order Total: The minimum order is $39.00. Quiklinx will not allow you to proceed with sending the order until the total is equal to or over this amount. You may need to raise your order quantity to get to the next step of the order form.
- When all of the order information is correct, click "Next".
- Step 3: Select any Additional Services that you need.
Proof: If you would like to receive a proof of your job before it actually prints and is shipped to you, select "faxed" to get it the same day the order is processed (black and white) or "shipped" to get it the following business day (color). Your print job will be held until you accept or reject the proof.
Bindery Services: By default, this is set to "none". If your job needs to be folded, scored, perforated or tab-sealed, click the appropriate button. Additional options will appear, so be sure to specify which ones you want.
Mailing Services: This option is only available if you are ordering postcards. If you want mailing service, select Platinum Sort Service. You will then be given the choice of what type of mailing you want. Some of the mailing types have specific requirements, so you may need to alter either your order or the mailing type to fit. If you select addressing only, we will print your addresses on the postcards, but send the cards to you to mail out yourself.
If you select either of the mailing services, you will need to additionally upload a mailing list. Click the browse button and browse for your address file. Acceptable formats are .dbf, .xls, .txt, and .csv.
- Click "Next" to proceed to Step 4: Payment Information.
Shipping Address: If the address you entered in Step 1 is not your shipping address, enter your correct shipping address in this screen.
Payment Information: Fill in the name on the card, the credit card number and the expiration date.
- Click "Next" to review your order information. Make sure that everything is exactly correct. If anything needs to be edited or changed, go back and make the necessary adjustment(s) now. Once all information is correct, you may want to click "Save all this information on my computer" so that you don't have to fill out the entire order each time.
- Click "Send order now". Quiklinx will compress your file and send the order. When it's done, you'll receive an automated confirmation message via email. Please read the e-mail to make sure it references your tracking number. If your tracking number is not listed, we did not receive your file and you will need to resend it.
If you do not receive this confirmation, we may not have received your work order information. Please contact our support department and include your order information and the file name.
