Download Printer Drivers

Choosing the appropriate printer driver.
expresscopy.com will only accept files for a print order in a "Postscript Printed" format, which end with .prn or .ps, or in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format, which has a .pdf extension. You can also use our new Online PDF Converter tool to create PDF files from MS Publisher and Word documents.

A "Postscript Printed" file is a file that is created when data from some application (e.g. Microsoft Publisher, QuarkXpress, Adobe Pagemaker) is rewritten into Postscript language. This "Postscripting" is done using a Postscript print driver, such as the Adobe Postscript printer. Postscript print drivers create files with a .prn or .ps extension.

"Portable Document Format" (PDF) files are created by software that reads Postscript data and converts it to PDF format. Programs such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller can read a previously generated .prn file and convert it into a PDF file. PDF files can be viewed on your monitor using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Acceptable Postscript Print Drivers
  • New! Adobe Postscript Driver
Adobe Postscript Driver We have replaced our Splash printer driver with an Adobe Postscript Printer driver, which includes expresscopy.com's custom PPD (Postscript Printer Description) file. The new driver:
    • allows you to take advantage of our new Publisher Conversion Tool
    • saves you time by creating jobs in a 1-up format, reducing file transfer speeds at the ordering stage
    • works well in any design application, including Microsoft Publisher
    • has pre-set page sizes for both bleed and non-bleed documents
    • is free to download, and available right here on our site.

Windows98 and Windows ME users: our new Adobe Postscript driver doesn't work as well as our Splash driver. Please continue using Splash for ME and 98.

  • Archived Splash Driver information
We have discontinued distribution of the Splash Printer Driver. If you are experiencing problems with the Splash driver, we strongly recommend upgrading to the Adobe Postscript Printer driver (above).

  • Adobe Acrobat PDFWriter (.pdf)

All of the above are "virtual" printers as they are not connected to your computer. Therefore, these printers will always "Print to File", that is, they will create a "printed" file on your hard drive. These .prn or .pdf files will be what you send to expresscopy.com.
