Business Card Printing Specifications

Standard business card size is 3.5" x 2". You can design and order a business card as a non-Bleed (color/images do not go to the trim edge) or Bleed (color/images do go to the trim edge).

Content Area

Although the finished size of a business card is 3.5" x 2", the usable content area is a bit smaller. We require 0.125" (1/8") inner margin around all four corners. Type, pictures and graphical elements should be inside this area. The eighth inch is used as a safety margin when the business cards are cut. Type or graphics may be cut off if they are too close to the edge, which is why we require 1/8" inner margin.

Bleeds
The only exception to this is when an element "bleeds" off the edge of the page. This can be a background color or image, or photo that extends to the edge of the trimmed card. If any side of your business card has an element that extends to the edge of the card, you must use the "bleed" layout. All bleed elements must extend at least 0.125" (1/8") beyond the trim edge of the card.

Note: under some conditions, lamination on items with a full bleed may result in laminate material peeling away from edges.
